At the heart of Narita Boy’s narrative lies a very personal and sentimental story about love, loss and hope, and this emotional atmosphere will power players through sections that are sometimes filled with overly-complicated coding and programming references. The story feels heavily influenced by famous science-fiction works (most notably the seminal Tron) but it’s not only about digital life and a computer-based world. The effect can be turned off, but I would guess that those old enough to recognize it for what it is will leave it on.Īs the savior of the Digital Kingdom, Narita Boy will feature 2D action and platforming through different landscapes while fighting HIM’s minions. The game even has a ‘soft’ CRT effect that makes it feel as though it’s being played on an Apple II from the dawn of the digital era. From the lights of the digital world to the mesmerizing tone of the synthesizer, every moment pays homage to the neon-hue pop culture of the ’80s. Enter Narita Boy.īefore going further, it’s impossible to talk about Narita Boy without first mentioning its art direction and aesthetics. Now, the Digital Kingdom and the programmer need a hero. The world he’s built – The Digital Kingdom – is under attack by a program called HIM that puts the programmer into some sort of deep sleep. Narita Boy is the first game from Studio Koba and tells the story of a programmer who tricked by his own creation. WTF No remappable controls again!? Why does this keep happening to me? LOW Too many fetch quests - better to call the game Errand Boy instead! HIGH Unique art direction that brings back memories.

Doubly so, as it will be free on GwG by the time you read this. A few little hiccups here and there with not being able to hear each other aside, if you want a pick up and play co op game I would definitely recommend We Were Here. If you want a game you can play with a friend for a couple of hours, We Were Here really shines with is intricate puzzles. There’s a slight pastel vibe to the art direction, which is great and everything has a nice sense of place within the world. The books you can interact with in the library to solve a puzzle later on have really clear text and react with shadows really nicely. Graphically this game is actually lovely to look at. At one point later on, Jamie had a fright of his own, with -and I quote -‘A scary floating crow man’ that gradually closed in on him while we tried to figure out a puzzle. While the creepy side of things never really pays off in a big way, there’s a constant sense of dread as you explore that really adds atmosphere. I am surprised Jamie still has ear drums after screaming into the walkie talkie what I could see if it was of any value to him with what he had in his room.Ī few other bits make the game quite creepy too, with the maze puzzle having small jump scares and the audio adding a small feeling of suspense. I was seemingly locked in a room filling with water and for those who know me closely I have a irrational fear of being underwater or drowning. The horror aspect of We Were Here started for me with a puzzle involving valves. I initially found this role tough, so after little while we switched roles and played through with me being the explorer all the way through till the end. As the Librarian, I soon got to work trying to match what he was saying to what was in my room. Jamie – as the explorer – needed to describe what he could can see accurately. The explorer starts off in a very small room with not much to go on. A fairly generous checkpointing system took some of the sting out of this, but obviously this is less than ideal. As you literally cannot play on without talking, we were forced to reboot the game each time. Several times throughout our playthrough, the walkies abruptly stopped working. Looking at you gracious leader! ( well, damn… – Ed) We did have a few issues with the comms though. It was fun not hearing your co op partner, the silence presumably meaning they were concentrating hard – until they figured out they were not holding down the button for the walkie talkie, leading to the oft heard ‘I’ve been talking for ages’ after they had realised. Chatting requires you to hold down a button to open comms – this also has the side effect of you both not being able to talk at the same time. In order to communicate, We Were Here has a very interesting take on being able to talk with your co op partner, in the form of a walkie talkie! So you have to play the game not using any external voice chat, relying solely on the in game voice function via the walkie talkies. Not being able to see what your co op partner can required a whole new level of communication for me. When you launch the title, you’re both put into completely different rooms and that is what made this such a fun experience. Both have very different roles throughout the experience to solve the puzzles. So you start of with being given the choice of playing as the explorer or the librarian. Be them very easy or sometimes terrifyingly hard (we shall get to the terrifying part later) the requirement of co-op adds a unique element to proceedings. My play through was with our gracious leader Jamie (aIn this review I will avoid any hints or tips for puzzles, as it was quite an experience trying to figure them out with your co op partner. But, I was in it for the long haul and all I am going to say is I’m glad I waited. 2 Players are required to even start the game, but technical issues meant we were struggling to get going. We got off to a bit of a rocky start with We Were Here. Betternet VPN is a free and unlimited VPN (Virtual Private Network) proxy for Android devices. Overall, we'd say Betternet could cover your basic privacy needs, such as protecting general browsing on public wifi hotspots. It's also very basic and doesn't offer much (or sometimes any) choice of servers, so may not help you get around any geographically-based blocking. Verdict:īetternet is easy to use, works as promised and in our tests delivered reasonable connection speeds. But you're not forced to do that, and overall the package is much less intrusive than it might have been. Our Windows client opened a new browser window to display ads whenever we clicked Connect, and the mobile apps offer apps to install, or videos to watch. We connected many times over two days and always got a Swiss IP.īetternet needs to pay for this somehow, so of course there are ads. One very obvious down side is that there's a very limited choice of servers on the mobile apps, and our Windows client gave us no choice at all. We also found that torrents weren't blocked, though beware: if you try to download gigabytes of data then we wouldn't be surprised if the company cuts you off part way through, or maybe throttles your connection to help other users. We were connected quickly, there were no DNS or other privacy leaks that we could see, and browsing speeds weren't noticeably different. Developed for over two years, Global Offensive was released for Windows, macOS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in August 2012, and for Linux in 2014. It is the fourth game in the Counter-Strike series. This evolved exploit allows users to roam the in-game map with no restrictions whatsoever.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ( CS:GO) is a 2012 multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. More recently, a new and improved version of this bug has come to light. Former coach of Evil Geniuses, Soham Chowdhury, is one of the highest-profile abusers of this bug and was found to have used it several times during major esports tournaments. What’s more, those using the bug can gain a huge slate of data to feed to their teams, giving them an unfair advantage. In short, this bug allows users to view in-game action, no matter where it’s occurring on the map. Several versions of the ‘Coach Spectator Bug’ have caused issues for pro-level play in the past. Sometimes, esports coaches and managers put these exploits to use. It’s not just players who take advantage of bugs and glitches. For an experienced player and coordinated team, this exploit can be incredibly advantageous. Now, every time the player comes within proximity of the enemy, their audio will be unmuted. Next, the player needs to start recording an audio demo. To get started, players will need to mute rival teams by typing a command into the CSGO console. This glitch isn’t random and requires a fair amount of effort to utilize. The so-called ‘Mute Bug’ allows players to access game-breaking information about nearby combatants, regardless of whether walls and objects are in the way. This glitch came about in late 2021, but it’s become a go-to exploit for CSGO players since. Valve has gone to some lengths to fix this bug after Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov of G2 Esports fame used it at the 2022 PGL Antwerp Majors. If done stealthily, enemy players are likely to assume this is a random glitch caused by the game itself. By dropping a smoke grenade directly underneath a player, the grenade will vanish into the floor, triggering the smoke through the floor glitch. Recently, players have sussed out a way to overcome the random nature of this glitch. However, in the vast majority of cases, this glitch could derail CSGO matches and scores. In a few lucky scenarios, victims of this glitch may have been able to use the resulting smoke to their advantage. In the past, such events have been entirely random. One of the oldest glitches in CSGO involves dropped grenades and smoke bombs falling through the ground. Unlike other glitches, the teleport bug can be used across multiple CSGO maps, including Dust 2, Mirage, and Cache. When another player teleports, a telltale splashing sound effect will be heard. However, it’s fairly easy to determine whether another player has taken advantage of this glitch. To exploit this glitch, players need to disconnect and reconnect to a server. In early 2022, gamers discovered that it was possible to teleport to areas of the map far beyond the spawn zone. However, a recent bug discovery has made teleporting a more practical exploit for CSGO players. Teleport glitches aren’t exactly a new thing in CSGO. Below, we explore a handful of the best CSGO exploits you can currently take advantage of. However, new glitches and bugs are arising all the time. The occasional glitch isn’t unheard of, but Valve is pretty quick on the draw when it comes to bug fixes and patch updates. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the oldest first-person shooters around. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the Apple ID Account after purchase.
